Marriage & Civil Partnership

Getting Married in Demohausen

A civil marriage is the only legally binding form of marriage in our district. Before you can exchange rings, you must officially ‘register the intent to marry.’ This process involves a thorough review of your personal documents to ensure there are no legal impediments to the union. We recommend starting this process at least six months in advance. If one partner is a foreign national, additional time may be required to verify international documents. Once your application is approved, you have a six-month window to celebrate your wedding at any of our approved venues.

Exclusive Wedding Venues

We believe that a civil ceremony should be just as romantic as a church wedding. That is why the Registry Office of Demohausen offers several distinct locations. Apart from the dedicated wedding room in the Town Hall, we offer officiated ceremonies in the Castle Gardens and the historic City Tower. Each venue has different guest capacities and availability. The Town Hall is available year-round, while our outdoor locations are exclusive to the summer months. Please browse our gallery to find the perfect backdrop for your ‘I do.’

Appointments & Scheduling

Efficiency is our priority. To avoid long queues, we operate strictly by appointment for marriage registrations. You can view our live calendar to see available slots for your initial consultation or document submission. Please note that Friday afternoons are reserved exclusively for wedding ceremonies and no administrative appointments are held at that time. Ensure you have your confirmation number ready when you arrive at the front desk.
